The Living Dead

Over the years, I’ve been asked by friends to watch certain movies or television shows that their children are watching.  I would then talk with their children about the movie or television show relating it back to the Lord.  Some of these movies and shows were not ones I would have picked to watch, but I truly believe that God can work through anything to reveal His truth to people.

One movie I watched recently was a love story involving a young man who was a corpse and a young woman who was living and breathing human.  A virus had turned a majority of the human population into corpses.  Only a few humans had been immune and survived.

One day the male corpse saw the living female; he fell in love.  The love he had for the young woman began to change him.  As he began changing the corpses around him were changed too.  His love for the young woman made him alive again.  And soon the other corpses were miraculously transformed into living beings again too.

As I watched the movie, I thought about all those years I had walked through my life as a corpse…the living dead.  I got up each morning to simply go through the motions of being alive.  I was numb, without any emotions, a majority of the time.

Then there were seasons of my life that I felt so dead emotionally and mentally that I didn’t even bother pretending to go through the motions.    During those times, I didn’t have the strength to play my “living dead” role.  I isolated myself from the world.

Walking through life as the “living dead” is lonely and painful.  You feel hopeless, thinking that nothing is ever going to change.  You wonder if this is all there is to life.  You wonder how much longer you can walk around pretending to be living.

Then I came to the Healing Ministry.  Through the Healing Service and teachings at the Glennon House, I learned about a love that can transform us from the inside out.

God’s love.

His love embraces the living dead, transforms them, and then walks with them as they learn to live as people who are fully alive.  If you’ve ever met someone who is walking in the love of the Lord, you know that simply being in their presence changes you.  The more time you spend with them the more alive you become.

If you’ve been walking though life as the “living dead,” I encourage you to visit the Glennon House for some individual prayer with one of our trained Prayer Ministers.  The Lord’s greatest desire is for you to know how much He loves you.  He wants you to be transformed into a person who is fully alive each day of your life!

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
